A Little About Me And My Journey

The Production Vault also know as Kai I was born in Brooklyn, New York raised in Crown heights. My first attempt to start my photography journey was in the summer of 2021. Originally I spent most of my time reselling Big brand names sneakers and clothing and even started my first business out of it called Theitemvault. It felt good to leave people happy after providing them with something they wanted while still being so closely involved with what I love, like fashion nice clothing and sneakers. Eventually I got the idea to not only provide clients with these great clothing pieces but also have the opportunity to take their photos and make them look great in them. Despite having what I still think to this day is a great vision it didn’t work out that easy, the resell market went down and there was less room for profit and became super hard to make sales. After seeing I was loosing money on sales I stoped reselling and had nothing but time to work on photography. That’s when I realized how hard photography truly was to learn and lacked people to shoot to help me get better. Despite the few friends that did accept my free shoots it wasn’t enough to get the practice and work I needed to get to where I wanted to be. I felt like I lacked the support I needed and slowly started loosing motivation. Fast forward a couple months and I was slowing progressing and at a point where I was charging for some shoots, but in December 2022 I got very serious about photography and where I wanted to go and see myself taking it. I was given so many opportunities that month and I am forever grateful for them and those people. I reinvested all the money I made that month and really all the money I had at the time into upgrading my equipment so I can give my journey everything I got. As I’m writing this I can definitely say it’s paying off, I’m far from saying that I’m the best or even the most knowledgeable about photography but I’m progressing and getting better everyday.
